Strolling – Blakey Ridge

Justine Warner

Into the Moorlands

My moorlands work is inspired by travelling from York to the coast for long dog walks at Sandsend, Whitby and Staithes. Stopping on the way and documenting the moorlands and heather in the small villages with my camera to capture the wild landscapes. Blakey Ridge is a firm favourite to visit on a Sunday for a long walk and a hearty Sunday Lunch at the Tan Hill Inn, one of Britains highest pubs.

This work is made from mens ties and recycled fabrics to give a rich texture and depth of colour.
